 Sinopec Maoming Petrochemical Company Refinery, Second Union Workshop, Diesel Hydrotreating Unit Rear Cooler£º¡¡   

   Since its commissioning in 1999, the Reactor Cooler E1103 (U-tube type, heat exchange area of 650 m2, shell-side cooling water) in the diesel hydrotreating unit of Sinopec Maoming Petrochemical Company's Refinery has suffered from severe under-deposit corrosion. The tube bundle would corrode and perforate every 7 to 8 months, requiring replacement at a cost of over 400,000 RMB per unit.
  During the major overhaul in September 2001, E1103 underwent Acoustic ScalePrevent Technology upgrade, with two sets of Acoustic ScalePreventer installed. Ten days after operation resumed, the temperature difference between the cooling water inlet and outlet increased from the original 4¡ãC to 8¡ãC and remained stable at this level. The tube bundle, initially expected to last only slightly over a month, ultimately operated for nine months. When removed, the tube bundle was clean and free of fouling (Figure 2). Its service life was extended by more than four times. Since then, each newly replaced tube bundle has been able to operate for over two years.
   2. Mineral crystallization: Acoustic waves transmitted to the water medium induce direct crystallization of mineral salts in the water, forming precipitated powder.
